I'm back

As the title suggests, I am back in good old Sydney (I've been back since Friday actually... please forgive my laziness and lack of blogging) and it feels great. Because now I have just under 3 weeks till India! I apologize in advance for the overload of photos you are about to receive, I got a little carried away and took far too many. Anyway, here are some of the photos from my many adventures out on the farm at Cowra.
Afternoon sun through through the clouds and trees
Sunset over the main paddock
Bundy riding on the back of the ute                                                                     One of the various bonfires
Will and Kat having a dance in the paddock
Molly looking like a glamour-puss before the races                                                  The excitement after Kat's horse won
The six of us all dressed up for race day
Wandering over to the racecourse to place a bet
Me and my sexy man
Last race of the day (the only race I lost)
Tree climbing is always a big past time at Cowra...
...As is yabbying
Yuuum, dinner!!
This big fella was intrigued by my camera
Peeling paint on the old shed                                                 The quickest way to get around the property
Scenes from the paddocks
Yet another cosy fire
There is nothing more satisfying than fishing your own dinner...so fresh!
The trip would not be complete without a visit to the cute lambs

I am already SO excited for next year. Stay tuned for photos from the snow.

And I'm on the road...

...to Cowra today! Finally! My holiday week has arrived folks - and I'm so excited. At midday Will and I are driving out to the farm with some friends (Tory, Molly, Katrina and Dom). It's going to be a big weekend :) I will try and pop in a quick post when I get back, before I leave for the snow the next day. I'm looking forward to taking lots of photos out there to show you all.
Here are some of my favourites from last year.

Things to look forward to

Lately I have been working overtime to the extreme. I wouldn't mind it so much if I had a job where I could sit down, but walking around serving people for 7 hours a day, 4 or 5 days in a row really wears you out. The only thing keeping me going is is the thought of my fast approaching holidays:

In 7 days time I will be going out to Cowra, which is about 4 hours west of Sydney.
Our relatives have a farm out there and every July the town hosts the Cowra Picnic Races
(basically a huge country 'day at the races'). I absolutely love spending time out there
and cannot wait to get all dressed up and bet on the horses.

Straight after Cowra in 12 days time I will be heading down to the snow with my
family and Will. Where we will also catch up with Soph and George. Seeing as I didn't get to
go skiing last year, I am so anxious and excited!!! Thredbo is my favourite resort
to ski at, and I have so many great memories there.

And of course, in 39 days I will start my big adventure to India. Which unfortunately
still seems like a million years away :(

Get the picture: Trees

So, my beautiful blogger friend Lauren from Outside Voice is hosting another photo sharing event, which I am so so so so excited about! If you missed her first one it was called Shades of Spring and it was so much fun getting involved. Anyway, this new one will work a bit differently. Where every month she decides on a theme for people to post about, and then they link their post up to her blog, and this months theme is trees. So here goes:

Trees
Seeing as my blog is all about photos I'm not going to write much (oh and the fact that I don't actually know that much about trees), i'll just show you in some piccies!

This beautiful setting is somewhere in the Australian outback (oops can't remember where though)

These two were taken last year out at my relatives farm in Cowra. The 6 of us (Will, Matt, Rob, Tori, Molly and myself) spent a whole afternoon climbing this gorgeous tree like we were 10 again - the photos bring back such fun memories!

This would have to be my favourite photo from this post because it reminds me of summer.
It was a scorcher of a day on the beach so Will and I found a couple of tiny trees along the back of the sand to lie under (can't remember why my top was hanging up though... I think I was drying it)

This is another photo from the farm at Cowra - I just love this one because it's so bizarre seeing this huge palm tree in the middle of the country!

Yes yes, I've realised I posted this photo only a couple of weeks ago... but it's simply spectacular with the sunset!

My Top 5

To get my blog going i thought i'd do a post showing my top five favourite photos i've taken. It was really difficult trying to narrow it down to five but i think i've chosen well.
5) This photo perfectly captures my love of sugar. I bought these in a
small alleyway down in Melbourne and they were delicious!

4) I'm instantly relaxed when i see this picture. It was taken up north at Nobby's Beach. A friend and i decided to wake up at 5:30 and wait for the sunrise. Just sitting there staring out at the beautiful view breathing in the crisp morning air was perfect.

3) This was taken at my relatives farm out at Cowra. I've been going there since i was about four and it's a very special place to me with so many great memories. The three guys in the background are my boyfriend Will, my cousin Matt and my friend Rob.

2) This photo captures my favourite time of year...summer. This is down on the South Coast at Hyams Beach - which i like to think of as my second home.

1) Melbourne. What isn't to love? The fabulous shopping, the cute little alleyways and the beautiful old buildings. This is my favourite photo, taken one night after dinner at a sneaky little underground restuarant with my family.
