Get the picture: Trees

So, my beautiful blogger friend Lauren from Outside Voice is hosting another photo sharing event, which I am so so so so excited about! If you missed her first one it was called Shades of Spring and it was so much fun getting involved. Anyway, this new one will work a bit differently. Where every month she decides on a theme for people to post about, and then they link their post up to her blog, and this months theme is trees. So here goes:

Trees
Seeing as my blog is all about photos I'm not going to write much (oh and the fact that I don't actually know that much about trees), i'll just show you in some piccies!

This beautiful setting is somewhere in the Australian outback (oops can't remember where though)

These two were taken last year out at my relatives farm in Cowra. The 6 of us (Will, Matt, Rob, Tori, Molly and myself) spent a whole afternoon climbing this gorgeous tree like we were 10 again - the photos bring back such fun memories!

This would have to be my favourite photo from this post because it reminds me of summer.
It was a scorcher of a day on the beach so Will and I found a couple of tiny trees along the back of the sand to lie under (can't remember why my top was hanging up though... I think I was drying it)

This is another photo from the farm at Cowra - I just love this one because it's so bizarre seeing this huge palm tree in the middle of the country!

Yes yes, I've realised I posted this photo only a couple of weeks ago... but it's simply spectacular with the sunset!

I saw this idea on Sarah's blog (which she found on someone else's) and thought I'd do one for myself. All you have to do is find a photo which matches the text above. Send me through the links to any others - I'd love to see them!

A picture speaks a thousand words

Who originally said “a picture speaks a thousand words”? Whoever they were, they nailed it. I have been brought up in a family, where I’m constantly surrounded by photos – thanks to my mum, and I have inherited this love from her. I’m constantly taking photos wherever I go. They have the power to make us really look at something and appreciate it, to tell stories and remind us of happy times and to surround us by the things and the people we love. My life would be empty without photos. I’m always snapping pics of the people around me and my room is filled with the memories brought to life by them.
It is my love of photos and everything that comes with them, that has inspired me to start a blog, to tell my stories and write about the things I love. Because there is no better way than to say something than through a photo.
An old photo of myself with my younger twin brother and sister. This photo is blown up and framed in our house. I love it because it reminds me of my childhood and memories with the twins.
