NYE in Sydney

Last night we celebrated the new year by spending the evening at a family friends house in Mosman. We had lots of champagne and prawns, followed by a delicious BBQ chicken dinner. We had lots of fun dancing around the house and celebrating, before making our way down to the harbour to watch the famous Sydney Harbour midnight fireworks. And, of course, we were't disappointed! It was a lovely way to see in the new year, and also to spend some more time with George, before he leaves for the UK tomorrow.
Happy New Year from Sydney!

Christmas in Aus

Most people I know dream of a white Christmas. I don't. I've never had one, not even a cold one. I've spent  all 19 of my Christmas's in beautiful, sunny, Sydney, and this year was no different! There's nothing I love more than running around barefoot in the back yard, working our way through bottles of champagne, soaking up the sun and cooling off in the pool - that is an Australian Christmas. It was a lovely day and the sun came out (breaking the depressing cold streak we've been experiencing) making it feel like a real Christmas. I spent lots of time cuddling my little India and I spoilt her with presents from India (my trip). The highlight was spending the last 4 hours of the evening playing Finska, a highly addictive outdoor game my cousin got from Santa!

A different type of India

While I was over traveling in India, my uncle and his fiancé brought their first child into the world and gave me a new baby cousin, who they called... India. I met her for the first time a few days ago and am already SO in love with her!

Thank you Mr. Postman

Every time the door bell rings, everybody jumps up and gets excited in hope that it’s the postman. Yesterday morning as I was heading out the front door on my way to day care, the postman pulled up and he had a package for me from my mum! Not just a letter, but a box! Unfortunately I was running late so I had to put it inside and get going, but all I could think about was my box waiting for me at home. When day care finished I raced upstairs and tore it open to find Vegemite, Milo and more stingose (I’ve been getting bitten a lot)!
Even though it wasn’t the most amazing package (where’s the lollies mum?) I was so excited. To think that this was sent all the way from Australia was so cool.

Anyway this morning I had my first cup of Milo in over 6 weeks and I couldn’t be happier. Thanks Mr. Postman – you made my day.

A night by the fire

We had Soph, George and the rest of the gang over for a lovely homemade dinner on Friday night. We sat around the fire, drinking wine (and lemoncello) and soaking up Soph and George's presence while we have time with them. It was such a fun night, I love spending time with family and close friends.
A lot of these photos were also taken by Soph and Ed.

Oh how the pictures have changed

I feel like lately I haven't really been blogging about what my blog is about (errr hope that made sense). What I'm trying to say is, I need to bring my posts back to the idea of a picture speaks a thousand words. So today I was looking at some old family photos and was thinking just how much photos have changed. Obviously the quality and what we can do with them is amazing nowadays, but I really like the simplicity and looks of 'old' photos. They all just look so classy and professional, like they are from a postcard. Once again, I don't think that made sense, but I don't quite know how to describe what I'm on about. So of course, I'll do what I do best and show you! These are some of my favourite photos I dug out.
