Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

As promised, here are some photos from my trip to Thredbo (my favourite ski resort, about 6 hours south of Sydney). I need to give credit to my mum for some of these photos, as it would have been slightly challenging to take my SLR on the slopes with me.
The beautiful sunrise on the way down
Super duper keen to hit the slopes
Will, cruising along on his board
The ski gang (minus mum who took the photo)
Out and about in the village
Having drinks at my favourite ski bar - The Denman
Will and George at dinner

Things to look forward to

Lately I have been working overtime to the extreme. I wouldn't mind it so much if I had a job where I could sit down, but walking around serving people for 7 hours a day, 4 or 5 days in a row really wears you out. The only thing keeping me going is is the thought of my fast approaching holidays:

In 7 days time I will be going out to Cowra, which is about 4 hours west of Sydney.
Our relatives have a farm out there and every July the town hosts the Cowra Picnic Races
(basically a huge country 'day at the races'). I absolutely love spending time out there
and cannot wait to get all dressed up and bet on the horses.

Straight after Cowra in 12 days time I will be heading down to the snow with my
family and Will. Where we will also catch up with Soph and George. Seeing as I didn't get to
go skiing last year, I am so anxious and excited!!! Thredbo is my favourite resort
to ski at, and I have so many great memories there.

And of course, in 39 days I will start my big adventure to India. Which unfortunately
still seems like a million years away :(

Guess what time it is?

Winter!
Well at least it will be in 5 days. I'm quick to admit that winter is NOT my favourite season. I am a summer girl through and through, but that doesn't mean I don't also love the season of snuggling by the fire, hot choccies and snow. If it wasn't for these things I don't think I could bear winter. (And yes, I can hear all you northern hemisphere people laughing at me, because Australian winters aren't even that cold). But luckily for me I will be missing out on a whole third of winter this year, with my Indian adventure all planned. Anyway, let's move away from criticizing poor winter, and let me do what I do best on this blog, show you why I love it through pictures!
Dasher and my sister Genevieve playing in the masses of leftover leaves after autumn
Dew on the grass in the early morning
Hot chocolates down in the snow
Skiing with friends
Big crackling fires
More hot chocolates
Eating hot food in the middle of the snow
And finally, yes I realise how crazy this looks. But this is an example of the silly things winter makes you do. Like having hot outdoor spas then jumping into freezing pools, or running up onto the ski slopes in a bikini (yes I actually did that...Genevieve and I wanted to see who could run the furthest) I think I was just missing summer too much!
