Challenge
Being only 19 years old, I can't say I've faced too many difficult challenges in my life. The things which challenge me are:
- Getting out of bed in the morning
- Eating healthy
- Remembering to shower
But in all seriousness, I do have a big challenge ahead of me. I have very little teaching experience. I've previously had a casual job supervising young children at a school, and some dance teaching - but that's as far as it goes. And in 5 weeks times I will be thrown headfirst into a classroom full of small Indian children, who speak very little English, and am expected to teach them. I've been told to expect things like, the usual teacher leaving class for days on end instead of helping me, the children going from being extremely shy and quite, to outrageously loud and annoying in the first few days, the children only turning up when they feel like it or very, very late, and being extremely frustrated by the rate at which they learn. After hearing all this from people who have previously gone, I have decided to expect the worse, and hopefully they will turn out lovely. So anyway, my point is, it is going to be extremely challenging for me to keep the children entertained, teach them valuable things and basically keep them under control. So my goal is to have a classroom where the kids looks as attentive and interested as this:
